  1. Never heard of those stores (thank goodness). We recently adopted from the animal shelter, but when I was still looking for pups, I'd check the local paper often. You can definitely tell who is a backyard breeder or a puppy miller b/c they always advertise having multiple breeds from the same location. How obvious can that be.
