  1. I love this grill and have two. They sear meats like nobody's business and I even grill pizzettes on them because the grilling surface allows for little to no loss of food between the grates. Not a heavy amount of charcoal is needed and they sure hold heat well. Only draw back is at 30lbs the Lodge sportsman grill only offers a small surface to grill with. If you value the quality of cast iron/ Lodge company its still great. For most it may not be worth it but I love it and got a second one! 😀

  3. I have a question.  I was given a cast iron hibachi grill about 25 years ago by my father.  I thought I remembered it as a Lodge but instead of the name saying LODGE on the loading door, there is an engraved picture of nature (duck flying over water with cattails or reeds……….did Lodge or does lodge make these?

  4. The grill is awesome. (1) Way too much charcoal, you'll overheat and crack the iron, start 1/4 chimney, pour it in to preheat, then add unlit coals on top (2) Never use lighter fluid, especially in a cast iron grill, iron is porous and absorbs the fluid, you'll taste gasoline from now on, get a chimney (3) Chunk that pig tail hook thing in the garbage, why work to get a great sear, then stab holes in the meat with a hook ? (4) The Sausages ! Dude ! Poor little fellas were charred to the point they split open, then skewered with that hook !
