Cooking

BBQ Grill Mat works for indirect cooking on gas, charcoal, and electric grills
Place mat on grill surface and food directly on mat.
Do not use above 500 Fahrenheit (260 Celsius) – use low to medium heat settings.
Do not use directly over open flame or heat source.
Follow all direction for indirect cooking from grill manufacturer.
Do not fold or cut the mat.
Do not use sharp metal objects or utensils as they could scratch the mat.

Cleaning

Wash in warm soapy water.
Dishwasher safe (top rack only).

PTFE

  1. This defeats the purpose of grilling. Using this is the same as using a frying pan on the stove top. Grill marks are the only thing you get. I could see using this for small veggies ect. Think about it people.

  3. La Jo Ba – From your comment I can tell you have never used one. I can honestly say I use my grill more with the mats, no more flare up while cooking chicken and other meats. I can cook bacon at the same time as the burgers. Bacon and eggs on the grill in the morning, and it is outstanding for veggies and other things that can fall through the grate. You get the same grilled and smoke taste from grilling without the hassle or worry about walking away from the grill for a few minutes depending on what you're cooking. I give them 2 thumbs up!

  4. Jesse Lee – It prevents the grease from dripping directly below the meat and causing flare or flame from coming in contact with the meat. The grease (depending on volume) will run down the side or end of the mat and not directly onto the flame.

    One thing I like is bacon cheeseburger and it is nice to be able to cook the bacon and the burger on the mat together. No flare up and the bacon doesn't shrink and fall through the grate.

  5. How could it possibly get the taste of the fire on the meat etc. when the mat has no allowance for the fire to come through? Also, when cooking meat or bacon, as you suggest, if the fat run off isn't going onto the grill than where is it going? It seems like the food must be cooking in all the grease and fat that would normally run off and therefore make the food both greasy and taste greasy and even steamed to some extent…. surely laden with fat calories. You're telling me I can cook 8 burgers and bacon but youre not mentioning the grease these meats produce and what happens to it. I can see it being ok for chicken and veggies but not the fat producers!
